Rtts 001 Maasai
Mara. 2-nights.
Day 1 – Arrival and welcome.
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta international airport (JKIA) to be received
by our client service representatives who will guide you to our
tour vans or bus for a transfer to the Serena Hotel (or similar)
for Dinner / briefing session and accommodation for the night.
Day 2 - Maasai Mara (250 kms from Nairobi)
After breakfast start your safari to the world famous Maasai Mara
game reserve. The 3 hours trip drives you through the dramatic rift
valley escarpments, a view of the Mt. Longonot crater, Kikuyu and
Maasai country, Mai mahiu and Narok towns, before crossing the vast
Loita plains .Game viewing on the way as you enter the park with
the greatest population of wildlife. You will check into the Lodge
for lunch and brief relaxation before a 2 hours evening game drive.
You will drive back to the hotel before dusk for dinner and entertainment
by Maasai dancers or another hotel activity like feeding of animals.
(Hot air balloon safari is available option for this safari where
you can drift over the plains watching game as the sun rises and
enjoy a champagne breakfast in the bush!)
Day 3 – Game drives (Ballooning option available)
Today you will enjoy two extensive game drives (morning and evening)
in one of the most amazing spectactacular views imaginable across
the vast plains, forests and rivers that make up the
Maasai Mara – one of the world’s richest wildlife sanctuaries.
If your safari falls between the month of July to September you
must look out for the annual migration that takes place on this
very terrain when millions of Zebra, wildebeest and gazelle cross
over from the Serengeti national park in Tanzania in search of new
grass, This is a spectacle that has baffled millions of animal watchers
the world over and should be witnessed at least once in a lifetime.
Other animals easily available in the park include buffalos, leopards,
hyenas, hippos, crocodiles and even the elusive Rhino might come
out of the thicket for you. Don’t forget the birds too! Look
out for the various species available in the park. You will be amazed
by our driver guides ability to locate the animals in this expansive
park. In between the game drives you will be driven back to the
lodge for lunch and relaxation by the swimming pool. In the evening
you will dine and be entertained by Maasai dancers at the Lodge.
Day 4
After an early morning game drives you go back to the lodge for
breakfast and then start your journey back to Nairobi, game viewing
on the way as you say goodbye to the Mara. You may visit a (optional)
Maasai village briefly to see Maasai Manyattas, take photos with
the Maasai, buy curios and even enjoy a traditional dance. You will
reach Nairobi in time for Lunch. The afternoon may be spent shopping
and a brief city tour/excursion before proceeding to the world famous
Carnivore restaurant for a farewell dinner and then transfer to
the airport take your flight back home.
