Holiday Check List
Making a holiday check list is not just an essential step in endeavouring
to ensure that one`s holiday runs smoothly and therefore is as enjoyable
as possible. It also gives one peace of mind that everything they need is
to hand and they can then chill out and enjoy their well deserved break to
the max!
One of the first essentials on a holiday check list should be to ensure
that passports, visas and driving licences are to hand yet in a safe
place. It is always a good idea to scan the passport and then send it to
one`s own e-mail address just in case it gets lost! Other essentials
include an address/note book containing emergency numbers, contact
information and travel insurance details, as well as information as to the
location of one`s hotel. Travel tickets, insurance documents, foreign
currency, cash, travellers cheques, debit, credit and ATM cards, a guide
book and map and any event tickets should all be allocated a safe place
yet be easily accessible to the owner.
As well as the above essentials, it is also wise to carry a personal
travel kit which includes such necessities as a pen and notebook, first
aid kit, suitcase with luggage locks and ID tags, a traveller`s alarm
clock and a camera complete with film, batteries or memory card. Depending
upon where one is going and what they intend to do, their travel kit may
include such necessities as a laundry bag, miniature sewing kit, books and
magazines, sleeping bags, pillows and ear plugs. One may also need a torch
complete with batteries (very handy when camping), binoculars, a laptop
with modem and/or plug adapters as well as keys, mobile phone and charger,
purse, handbag, watch and wallet and for those going into high risk areas,
a mosquito repellent and net are highly advisable!
Carrying basic travel clothes is always a good idea, which should include
enough underwear and socks, shorts, skirts and trousers, sunglasses, sun
hat and/or visors, swimming trunks and/or swimming costume. A jacket and
raincoat really are essential wheresoever one may travel, as are sensible
and comfortable shoes, dress clothes and adequate nightwear.
Last but certainly not least one cannot forget their toiletries, which
should include a good brush and comb, razor and/or shaver, shaving cream
and aftershave for the guys and perfume for the ladies. Both sexes will
obviously need toothpaste and a toothbrush, preferably in a travel holder,
as well as tooth floss, lip balm, mouthwash and deodorant. Other travel
necessities are soap, shampoo and conditioner, towelettes, cotton wool
and/or cotton buds, sun block and after sun lotion. Travellers should also
make sure they have their glasses, contact lenses and contact lens
solution, should they need them and always make sure they have any
prescribed medicine and an extra prescription with them on their
travels.
Before one embarks on their holiday however and does any form of planning,
it is a good idea to check out some of the best offers available on the
market today such as, for example, those that Groupon advertise, as in doing so
they should bag some of the best deals available where holidays, travel
and other goods and services are concerned!
